5 Camelcamelcamel Alternatives with Stronger Features

Eventually, every Amazon seller realises they need price tracking software (if they want to compete at the top anyway). If you are not set on Camelcamelcamel just yet, you will be happy to know there are a few good camelcamelcamel alternatives out there.

In this article, I’m going to cover five of the best alternatives (in my opinion). Over the years, I have tried out many pricing tracking tools, so I have listed the options that I feel have the most useful features.

Before we get into it, I want to address a few questions that students ask a lot.

Can You See Price History on Amazon?

Many sellers want to know whether they can access historical price data directly on the Amazon platform. Unfortunately, this is not possible without the help of some software.

You will at least need the Camelizer browser extension or one of the below Camelcamelcamel alternatives.

On the plus side, Camelcamelcamel is free and can easily be added to Chrome (The Camelizer); this makes it possible to see price history directly on Amazon.

However, this extension does have its limitations. For one, if you only have a free account, you won’t have access to sales rank data.

I also found that I wasn’t able to track as many products as I wanted to when using Camelcamelcamel; this is one of the reasons why I started using alternatives.

If you are new to Amazon, The Camelizer extension is can be useful. However, I’d recommend using one of the alternatives for several reasons that we will get into shortly.

Is CamelCamelCamel Owned By Amazon?

Ok, let’s get this out the way before we go any further. Amazon does not own CamelCamelCamel. The company was founded by a chap called Daniel Green in 2008. The software was then developed by a company called Cosmic Shovel Inc.

Anyway, let’s move onto the alternatives.

Which are the Best Amazon Price Trackers – Camelcamelcamel Alternatives

Let’s take a closer look at some of the best Camelcamelcamel alternatives.

1. Helium 10

Helium 10 is one of the best Chrome extensions I have used to date, and price tracking is just one of the features we use daily.

The Xray feature of the extension is what will give you access to price tracking data on Amazon. I’ve found the data to be highly accurate, a little while ago I ran a case study to document this.

Once you install the extension and turn on the Xray feature, you can see a product’s price history within a pop-up window.

The example below is a product that currently does $2,700,000 a month on Amazon.com

There are some additional features you can use once you install the Helium 10 extension; this is how I know the estimated sales data for the above product.

The tool includes a profitability calculator which makes it that much easier to find product opportunities; you can quickly analyze a product to see if it’s going to bring the profit that you are looking for.

The ASIN Grabber lets you copy ASINs in bulk to create targeted ads; this is a very effective PPC strategy.

Review Insights gives sellers access to thousands of competitor reviews, giving you a deeper understanding of customer pain points and needs. If you fully understand how to harness this part of the tool, you can become unstoppable.

Lastly, the Inventory Levels feature provides you with a quick view of inventory levels of a specific listing (I’ve used the same product example below).

Anyway, enough about Helium 10, if you read my articles a lot you’ll know it’s my personal favorite, let’s move onto some of the others.

You can read through my full review on Helium 10 here.

2. Jungle Scout

Jungle Scout also has an impressive Chrome extension that gives you access to historical price data and so much more. Users can also choose from the Lite or the full version of the extension based on their specific needs.

The AccuSales algorithm is what helps sellers analyze data and validate their product ideas. The algorithm works with over a billion data points every day to make product research easier.

Jungle Scout Chrome Extension

I use Jungle Scout for more than just the pricing history though. Once installed, you can also access key product insights, including competitor and product demand data. You can even eliminate product ideas using the handy Opportunity Score system.

Lastly, if you are already set up as a seller, you can use the Request Review function to send requests for product reviews to your customers.

For my full opinion on everything that Jungle Scout has to offer (web app and Chrome extension), read my review here.

3. Keepa

Keepa is a price tracking tool that has been around for a good few years. The layout is something to be desired, but the set of tools it offers is advanced.

From price history graphs to stock availability and deal alerts, Keepa has a lot to offer Amazon sellers.

As with the other extensions, you can view price history data directly on each product page. If you don’t necessarily use Chrome, you will be glad to know that Keepa also works on Edge, Opera, and Firefox.

Keepa Price Tracking

In the past, I have used Keepa to track price drops and deals, but over the years, I found alternatives I preferred.

If you want a tool that focuses more on price tracking than anything else, Keepa could be the ideal option for you. In the article below, I compared Keepa to jungle scout, read this before making your decision. You can read my thoughts on Keepa vs Jungle Scout here.

4. AMZScout

AMZScout’s Pro Extension is easy to set up and will give you access to important product data, including pricing history, competition levels, and estimated monthly sales.

Product trends is another feature that I appreciate about this extension.

Once installed, you can access the extension using the AMZScout icon in your browser. Click the Product History option to see data for any particular product. This will also show you product rank history.

AMZScout Extension

There is a free trial available should you want to try the Pro Extension before you purchase it.

While AMZScout’s extension features aren’t quite as extensive as Helium 10 and Jungle Scout, it is still a useful tool for Amazon sellers.

5. Honey

Now I have to admit this isn’t a tool that many Amazon sellers use for this purpose, well they do but not in the same way as the other alternatives we’ve looked at.

Honey was not originally designed to be a price tracking tool; it is mostly used to find coupons online. Droplist is the feature that gives you the option to receive email notifications about product prices on Amazon.

Once you add a product to Droplist, you receive a notification whenever a price drops by 5% or more.

Users can choose to monitor a product for 30, 60, or 90 days. There is also the option to access a product’s price history for those same periods.

Droplist is ideal for those looking for a basic price tracking tool.

Honey Droplist

Honey is a different type of tool, but it’s still one that I thought was worth mentioning.

Are the Camelcamelcamel Alternatives Worth Considering?

I’m just like you, a few years back I decided that it was time to find a suitable camelcamelcamel alternative.

Don’t get me wrong, Camelcamelcamel has it’s positives, I’ve just found that other tools cover these positives and give me more of the features that I need.

If you feel like you are in the same position, I would suggest looking into either Helium 10 or Jungle Scout.

Naturally, your specific needs and budget might be different to mine; I’m just sharing what has worked for me.

Things have evolved over the years; I’ve spent a lot of time looking for tools and strategies that can improve my efficiency.

On the subject of change, the video below explains how I used to do product research compared to how I like to do things now, let me know if you find the video useful.

Anyway, that’s enough from me!
