Whether you want to do it for branding or aesthetic reasons, there are two ways to remove this text from your store’s footer.
How to Remove Powered by Shopify?
There are two ways to remove Powered by Shopify from your footer – one that requires you to edit code and one that doesn’t.

- Click on Action in front of your active theme, followed by Edit Code.
- Locate the Sections folder on the left and open the Liquid file.
- Use Ctrl + F or Command + F to find {{ powered_by_link }}.
- Remove this tag and click Save.

- Once you are logged in, click on Online Store in the sidebar on the left, followed by Themes.
- Click on Action in front of your active theme, followed by Edit Languages.

As a full-time Amazon seller, I thought it might make sense for me to talk a bit more about selling on Amazon as an alternative, we started on Amazon, but some people prefer starting with Shopify.

Is Shopify Better Than Amazon?
There is an ongoing debate about whether or not Shopify is better than Amazon and vice versa.
The reality is, while you can sell goods on both platforms, there is one main difference. Shopify is an eCommerce platform, while Amazon is a marketplace.
So, what does that mean?
- With Shopify, store owners need to build a brand, establish trust, and drive traffic to their store. Since Amazon is already an established marketplace, the audience already exists. It’s just a matter of making sure your product listings stand out.
- If you choose to run a Shopify store, chances are you will handle all the inventory and shipping yourself. Amazon sellers have the option of FBA, which means all the product picking, packing, and shipping is taken care of. With that being said, there is always the option linking your Shopify and Amazon store; this allows you to take advantage of both marketplaces.
- Lastly, there are your client relationships. The client relationships you build via Shopify are yours to keep and maintain, email marketing and Shopify go hand in hand; it can be a very lucrative business model. When you sell on Amazon, you don’t have access to the customer data; really, you are just serving Amazon’s customers with your products.
Whichever platform you choose, there are monthly fees involved. You will also need to spend time on product research and the development of a sound pricing strategy.
Overall, Amazon is generally a better choice for part-time sellers or small to medium businesses. Shopify, on the other hand, is a good option for individuals and businesses of every size.
Your availability, goals, and budget are the main factors that determine which platform is best for you.
