What Does It Mean When Your Account Gets Locked?
There are several reasons why Amazon might lock your account. However, when it comes to sellers, the most common reason is a billing detail mismatch.
Another common reason is that a third party might have gained access to your Seller Central account, or Amazon are worried that someone is attempting to.
If Amazon suspects anything unusual, they will try to protect your inventory as well as your revenue by locking your account.
When your account has been locked, you should receive an email with the reasons behind it.
Until you unlock it, you won’t be able to accept or fulfill any new orders. If you are in this position currently, don’t worry, I understand how frustrating it can be, we’ve been in this position several times, and we’ve always managed to sort it out.
How to Unlock Your Amazon Account
If you’ve been locked out of your Amazon account, here are a few ways you can regain access:
Upload Missing Documentation
Very often, all that’s required to unlock your Amazon account is to send the necessary documentation. If you’ve received a notification that your orders are on hold, you will be given a link you can use to upload the documents directly to Amazon. Once the documents are reviewed, Amazon should reactivate your account.
Just be wary of any potential phishing emails, which are all too common. Make sure the request is coming from a legitimate Amazon email address.
Open a Case Online
To open a case about your locked account, log in to your account and click on Need Help. You will now see the option for Account and Login Issues. Select I Cannot Sign Into My Account and compose a message with the issue you’re experiencing.
If you are located in the U.S., you can contact Amazon’s customer support line on 1-888-280-4331 and ask to speak to an account specialist to unlock your Amazon account.

The main thing is not to panic! It’s best to deal with Amazon with a calm and collected mindset.
