Today i’m going to run you through everything you need to know about the shopify amazon integration.
A lot of people ask me “Can Shopify integrate with Amazon?”
The simple answer is Yes!
But the integration works in more ways than one.
If you are reading this article the chances are you are interested in this due to one of the following topics:
- Print On Demand – Using Shopify/Amazon For Your Merch Business
- You want to list your Shopify Products On The Amazon Marketplace
- Connecting Your Shopify Store To Amazon FBA (Fulfillment option)
This article is going to cover the amazon shopify integration for the above three topics and more.
I have actually covered this on the YouTube channel, i’ll leave the video below but i’d recommend reading this video all the way through first.
I’d love to know your thoughts, if you have any questions leave a comment on the video or at the bottom of this article.
Shopify & Amazon – The Basics
Before we dive in, i think it’s going to be useful for me to cover the basics when it comes to these two platforms (I”ll keep it short and sweet, don’t worry).
Shopify is website builder that makes it incredibly easy for you to build a fully hosted website for your business.
Whatever it is you sell, Shopify have got you covered.
You don’t need to be tech Saavy either…
You just have to be willing to put in the effort to understand the platform.

Let’s move onto Amazon…
I’d say it’s safe to say that Amazon is now the biggest shopping platform in the world.
The amazon marketplace provides worldwide exposure, if you aren’t involved you could be leaving a lot of money on the table.
The shopify amazon integration allows you to take full advantage of their mouth watering market reach.
Let’s start with print on demand.
Print On Demand With Amazon & Shopify
Merch by Amazon (MBA) is certainly one of the most popular platforms when it comes to print on demand…
However, some print on demand sellers prefer to take advantage of Amazons market reach in a slightly different way.
We will refer to this method as the shopify/amazon integration.
If you are into print on demand i’d recommend doing both merch by amazon and the shopify/amazon integration.
For normal T-shirts MBA is great but….
By building your own Shopify store and integrating to the amazon marketplace you’ll be able to sell a lot of other different product types.
The other product types usually have much less competition and in the long term you can really profit from this decision.
What Can I Sell?
With Merch by Amazon you are limited…
However with the integration you can sell anything your chosen print on demand carrier offers.
Here are a few of the popular print on demand carriers:
- Teelaunch
- Printful
- Printaura
Teelaunch is at the top of the list because of their low pricing alongside their vast array of POD options.
The steps to starting the integration is simple…
- Take advantage of a free trial and start building your shopify store
- Sign up for Amazon Seller Central
- Connect to your chosen print on demand carrier within the shopify App section
- Connect all the above and start selling!
Key Things To Know
Using the integration does require some investment.
You’ll need the following:
- Shopify Store – $9 Per Month
- Amazon Seller Central – $40 Per Month
- Effort & Patience
Let’s move onto the next section…
Listing Shopify Products On The Amazon Marketplace
The shopify integration with amazon works with shopify stores in general not just print on demand stores.
Your store will need to meet Amazons requirements but once you’ve done that it’s fairly straight forward.
Follow this step by step process:
- Get a free trial and build your Shopify Store
- Make sure you store meets Amazons requirements
- Apply for approval in the relevant categories
- Add the Amazon sales channel to your store
- Purchase UPC/EAN Barcodes for your products
- Create Your Amazon Listings
- Claim the Amazon listings in your shopify store
- Set up an inventory tracking policy
- Get selling!!!!!
It’s pretty straight forward isn’t it.

There are tools out there to help you list and manage your shopify tools…
All of this can be done manually, i think it’s a good way to make sure you fully understand the process (Unless you have loads of products, this would take too long).
Key Things To Know
When signing up for your amazon seller account you have the option to use two types:
- Professional Seller Account (Recommended)
- Individual Seller Account
If you are building a real business i’d recommend going for the professional account, there are a lot of limitations with the other type.
Before you get started make sure you have full information on the products you are wanting to sell…
You’ll need details of the brand, size and weight, colour and other attributes.
If you struggle you could use an app like this to sync your products between amazon and shopify.
Connecting Your Shopify Store To Amazon FBA
The Shopify Amazon Integration also allows shopify story owners to take advantage of Amazon’s fulfillment network.
Again, you’ll need an Amazon seller central account but this can allow you to delegate a lot of the heavy lifting.
You may already sell on Amazon but you want to diversify and open up your own shopify store…
Or you may already have a Shopify store but you want Amazon to deal with the fulfillment of your products.
Whatever your reason, the shopify amazon integration can help with this.
Here’s a useful tutorial video i found when setting up the integration.
If you sell within Europe of outside of the US you may well need a third party application to connect both Shopify and Amazon FBA.
If you still aren’t 100% clear on the process I’ve written another article that takes you through the entire process (link below).
How To Setup A Shopify Store For Amazon FBA
Now we’ve covered the three most popular amazon/shopify integrations let me explain why i think it’s important for you to get involved.
Benefits Of The Amazon Marketplace
As you may or may not know Amazon started as a book selling platform but wow how things have changed….
Amazon have grown into THE powerhouse of the eCommerce industry.
Their obsession with consumer behavior has put them miles ahead of any other shopping platform.
According to this report, Americans now trust Amazon more than they do the US Government or press.
Further benefits include:
- Unrivaled delivery times across the globe
- Amazon are known to be one of the biggest spenders within paid advertising
- Free shipping with prime membership
- Huge variety of products
I could go on but i think you get the idea…
Selling On Amazon – Best Practices
Once you have set up the Shopify Amazon integration it’s important for you to know how to make the most of the Amazon platform.
I’ve been selling on the Amazon platform for some time now and I’ve picked up a fair bit of knowledge along the way.
Always follow the amazon seller guidelines…
If you want to build a long term business you’ll need to follow the rules.
Amazon are investing a lot of time and money into eradicating black hat tactics…
Cheating the system will almost always guarantee you lose in the long run.
Here are a few useful tips:
- Take the time to read and understand Amazon’s terms of service
- Optimize your listing by using the right keywords in your amazon listing (Keyword Tutorial in Video below)
- If your margins allow it make use of Amazon’s fulfillment network, they will ship out the orders as they come in (FBA)
- Get genuine reviews by over delivering on product quality and customer service
- Keep your shopify store updated with fresh content (New products or useful articles for the blog)
- Find hot selling products by perfecting your amazon product research process
Here is the keyword tutorial video i’d mentioned above…
Let’s finish by answering the question we asked at the beginning of this article.
Can Shopify Integrate With Amazon?
Yes you can integrate your shopify store with Amazon in a number of ways.

In my opinion Shopify and Amazon are both important platforms in the eCommerce world…

Ok. So I’ve seen most of your videos. And read this article. Still no answers to my question.
If I have 100 styles on my Shopify site. And I want to sell those items on amazon, do I have to manually enter the 100 styles on sellers central?
What is the main purpose of amazon and Shopify integration? Is it for inventory management?
Let’s say I’ve entered 100 styles on amazon. How are the Shopify and amazon linked?
Currently getting messages on Shopify that 28 items are not synced?
Amazon and Shopify can not help. I’ve called them both and neither know what or how to fix.
Ok so do you mean 100 products on your shopify site? If you were to sell those 100 products on Amazon you would need a listing for each product correct, unless they are the same product but you just have an inventory level of 100. The main purpose of the Amazon and shopify integration is the fact that you can then sell your Shopify products on Amazon (aswell as Shopify) If you do this right you can reach more people. If you are having issues syncing the products i’d suggest looking at the app or website I mentioned in this article. Not sure what you mean by Styles but hopefully that helped
