When Does Amazon Restock? (The Impossible Question)

The question of all questions; When does Amazon restock?

Many would say this is a difficult question to answer, but I think I can do it justice.

It’s a case of considering the different variables and the different types of people that might want to know the answer to this question.

Whether you are a buyer or an Amazon seller looking to soak up some extra sales, you are in the right place.

When Does Amazon Restock?

Unfortunately, there is no one answer to the question.

It depends on several different factors, starting with who is selling the product.

Amazon stocks a lot of its own products; they resell products directly from brands and distributors as part of their sales strategy.

Sometimes Amazon might not be able to restock a product due to a safety concern or maybe because there’s a delay in the manufacturing or supply chain process.

As Amazon is a marketplace, a lot of their stock is also sold on behalf of third-party sellers, just like me!

With this in mind, there is always a chance that Amazon might never restock a particular product ever again; in fact, this happens all the time.

A lot of products are sold under the FBA program.

When Amazon restocks is dependent on how quickly new stock reaches one of their warehouses and when they process that stock.

Amazon’s restocking process is always on the go and products are often moving between warehouses, which can result in further delays.

So, what is Amazon’s restock date? There is no way to tell. New stock can arrive in a few days or a few weeks.

If you are a seller or vendor on Amazon, you’ll be able to let customers know when they can expect a restock by editing your listing details within seller central.

In my experience, if you are an FBA seller, it’s best to leave availability up to Amazon, send your goods in, and let them take care of the rest.

There is always the option of letting customers pre-order or backorder stock. However, there’s no real way to tell when they may receive their product/s.

If you believe you might be dealing with missing Amazon FBA stock, read this.

How Do I Get Restock Notifications on Amazon?

If you’re a buyer and want to find out when stock is available for you to order again, simply click on the Email Me button next to the product header.

You can even see which items you are tracking under the Availability Alert section of your Amazon account.

As for sellers, you can take advantage of Amazon’s Restock Inventory tool.

The tool offers recommendations on which products to restock and how many you should order.

This is based on stats such as variable costs and expected revenue. However, you do have the ability to customize these recommendations by manually changing inputs.

Overall, these recommendations are designed to help you avoid running out of stock or carrying too much stock.

On the FBA side of things, Amazon has recently made some BIG changes; if you are a third-party seller, you probably know exactly what I’m talking about.

Let’s hope they sort out the inventory limits as quickly as possible.

If you would like to adjust your restock recommendation inputs, navigate to the product in Seller Central and click on the drop-down menu in the Action Column. Here you will see an option for Customize SKU settings.

I hope this gave you an idea of how to deal with any Amazon restocking questions you might have.#
